Mustello Announces Community Improvement Grants
HARRISBURG – Rep. Marci Mustello (R-Butler) today announced the awarding of nearly $602,000 in state funding for community improvements in the 11th Legislative District. Mustello played a key role in securing the Local Share Account (LSA) grants for the projects.

“These projects will be a great benefit to residents, including the sanitation and improvement to our roads and parks,” said Mustello. “This funding represents valuable investments in ensuring accessibility, recreation and possible business growth in our area. I’m happy to support these worthwhile and important projects.”

The local grants include:
Buffalo Township - $372,828 to purchase equipment for sediment reduction from the watersheds which include stormwater basins, ditch lines and storm drains.

“We are thrilled with the funding and appreciate Rep. Mustello’s hard work to advocate for this grant,” said Rich Hill, manager, Buffalo Township. “We need help to pay for the equipment necessary to get the job done effectively. This will go a long way to help us get to our goal.”
Jefferson Township - $118,400 to install bathroom facilities at Laura J. Doerr Memorial Park. Presently, there are only two single occupancy restrooms with flushable toilets that serve the entire park.

“We are excited to receive the necessary funding for this project,” said Leo J. Rosenbauer III, manager, Jefferson Township. “The project will provide easier bathroom access for our younger athletes. We are committed to making the park a place for health and well-being that are accessible by people of all ages. We are very grateful to Rep. Mustello’s help in obtaining the funding.”

Chicora Borough - $110,000 for the purchase of a new dump truck with attachments and a zero-turn tractor.

The grants were approved and awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which was established as an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth. LSA grants are derived from gaming revenues.
