HARRISBURG – Rep. Marci Mustello (R-Butler) today announced that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) approved a $212,500 state grant to construct a restroom facility at Preston Park in Butler Township.
The township plans to start with the development and rehabilitation to their restroom facility. The proposed project will require the installation of a sanitary sewer and water line hook-up. The new facility will also need electrical service to the building, along with the necessary seeding, mulching and grading of the surrounding groundwork. The total project cost is $250,000.
“Ensuring our community is equipped to properly handle wastewater is good for our residents and good for our environment,” said Mustello. “I was happy to advocate for this worthwhile project with the support of local government and the Butler Township community.”
“We have a park without a restroom, and we have a responsibility to our residents and those with disabilities to provide one. This funding will go a long way to help with the installation,” said Tom Knights, Butler Township manager. “When we approached Rep. Mustello, she quickly and aggressively advocated for funding. We could not have done this without her help. She deserves a great deal of the credit.”
The CFA was established as an independent agency of the Commonwealth and holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
Mustello represents the 11th Legislative District in Butler County, which includes the city of Butler; Chicora, Connoquenessing, Fairview, Karns City, Petrolia, Prospect and Saxonburg boroughs; as well as Butler, Clearfield, Connoquenessing, Donegal, Fairview, Jefferson, Oakland and Summit townships.
