Mustello Hosts Responsible Alcohol Management Instruction

March 4, 2024

HARRISBURG – In an effort to provide training and resources to licensed establishments, their employees, and volunteers who are involved with serving alcohol at public festivals and events, Rep. Marci Mustello (R-Butler) will host a Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) certification class on Wednesday, March 6, from 6-9 p.m.

The event will take place at the Saxonburg Fireman’s Club located at 155 Pittsburgh St., Saxonburg.

“Since its inception in 2016, the RAMP program has been instrumental in training staff and personnel on how to properly handle alcohol products and manage common situations involved with alcohol sales,” said Mustello. “It also helps to educate and inform customers and staff on the importance of responsible alcohol service to protect public safety.”

RAMP Server/Seller training is required for anyone involved with serving alcohol at community festivals and events in Pennsylvania. It is also required training, within six months of hire, for all licensed establishments that wish to maintain RAMP certification. Everyone completing the class and exam will receive a personal card/certificate that is valid for two years.

While RAMP classes are commonly offered through a variety of online providers and at differing price points, this class is an in-person experience among peers/colleagues – which some people may favor. It combines interesting materials with the opportunity to interact with others.

Registration is required in advance by contacting the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company at 724-352-3300, ext. 755. Space is limited and a $15 fee, per participant payable to the RAMP instructor on the day of the event.
