HARRISBURG – Rep. Marci Mustello (R-Butler) today announced schools across the 11th Legislative District have been awarded more than $977,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC).

“These grants are a vital investment in the safety and well-being of our students and educators,” said Mustello. “Ensuring our schools have the resources to enhance security and provide mental health support is crucial to creating safer, more supportive learning environments for students across the Butler County.”

School districts and technical schools in the 11th District that received school safety and mental health grants are as follows:

• Butler Area School District – $214,860.
• Karns City School District – $124,420.
• Knoch School District – $136,835.
• Butler County AVTS Career and Technical School – $70,000.


Targeted school safety grants for nonpublic schools in Butler County were awarded as follows:

• Butler Catholic School – $60,000.
• Saint Wendelin School – $75,000.
• Penn Christian Academy – $10,364.
• North Catholic High School – $75,000.



The PCCD’s School Safety and Security Committee awards grants to schools and organizations across Pennsylvania to improve safety measures and provide critical mental health support services for students and staff.
