Mustello Announces Nearly $348,000 Dual Credit Innovation Grant for Butler County Community College
April 24, 2026
BUTLER – The Butler County Community College (BC3) has been awarded a $347,834 state grant created to help expand access to dual-credit programs for high school students who want to pursue higher education, Rep. Marci Mustello (R-Butler) announced.
“Preparing students for success is critical to the future of our communities and our economy,” said Mustello. “This grant for BC3 will expand real-world opportunities for our region’s students, equipping them with practical skills, early college credits and a clearer path forward, all while reducing the financial burden on families. Programs like this ensure students graduate ready to contribute, compete and succeed in today’s workforce.”
These funds will increase BC3’s capacity for dual-credit courses, which allow high school students to satisfy their curriculum requirements while also earning college credits. These classes have proven to be highly successful in preparing students for college while also improving their academic performance overall.
The funding was made available through the PA Dual Credit Innovation Grant, which was created by the General Assembly in 2024 and receives its funding through General Fund appropriations approved by the General Assembly.
